I'm banging my head against this week's writerinatardis prompt.

I'm banging my head against this week's writerinatardis prompt.

I can see why : the book I first spotted when I looked up (although technically not nearest to me) was "Numerical Recipes", a book of canned algorithms.

Well, given it's Doctor Who, that's actually the bit that's giving me the least trouble. I'm stuck on the Shakespearian character and I'm so tempted to use my own namesake, but then it would give me away as the author.

Not a terribly helpful comment, this, but you reminded me that I always wanted to write a MND pastiche with the X-files characters, so I could use the line "Though she be but little, she is fierce!" about Scully.

(You can get a t-shirt with that as the quotation here, I've found. I'd buy one for my (5'1") sister, except, being fierce, she'd kill me.)

Something more a propos:

I do know, I believe, who your namesake is (although I think I learned it by accident) but do most people? And isn't there already a Who connection there? The coincidence wouldn't be overwhelming.

There is indeed a Who connection (I squeed so hard when I found that out)! I think enough people know my name (I don't take overly great pains to keep it a secret) that it might be sketchy if such an obvious clue was in the story.

I don't feel that interesting right now :)

I'm bored. Don't feel like doing housework, because dammit it's the weekend and I want to relax, but the net is quiet, I don't quite feel up to finishing the story I'm working on, and there's nothing else to do. Bah.

This is where knitting comes in handy. Except you can be sick of that, too.

Wonder why everything's so quiet? Last weekend was really lively.

Not sure if "enjoying" is the correct term...
