I've found that if I want to write in my journal while in bed, I need to leave a magazine open for her to sit on. Otherwise she nudges my pen aside and sits down.
I used to have a non-guest cat that did this. Although my non-guest cat was a scrawny thing and I could still write around her up to a point. Your guest cat totally pwns your journal!
She's a perpetually alert, slightly worried-looking kitty who in times of high human activity goes to her corner and wraps herself around her scratching pad as if it were "Safe" in a game of tag. But she knows her rights, and one of them is apparently to sit on any paper matter adjacent to a human in repose.
My late kitty would do this, but he would often site himself just off the journal, so that he really looked as if he were reading it and mulling it over. I have it in an icon (points to icon).
Maybe it's a girly thing. ;-) My female cat has a mad need to sprawl on paper - particularly if you are silly enough to leave it on a bed. (Although she has, on occasion, perched on desk piles.) My male cat almost never does this.

Actually, I've got a cute photo of Guest Cat sitting on top of a big pile of junk mail, in the middle of the floor. It's definitely a paper thing with her.
