Sigh

There's no point in even considering an early night, because I live right next to what bills itself as the Town Square of my decentralized suburban community, and this weekend they're having a Festival. Tonight's attraction is a band delivering unconvincing pop-country covers, very very slightly out of tune. And they are *loud*.

I can ignore it like I ignore my neighbors' video games and the dude in the courtyard who was having a whispered but drunk-loud conversation on his cell phone at quarter to three Tuesday morning, but it would be useless to try to sleep.

So it'll be a late night. At least the moon is out. That part is nice.

Hmmm. I don't suppose you could play with your camera--specifically with shutter speed and exposure to see what kind of night shots you can get of the crowd? (it's a dorky thing I do when I can't sleep, for whatever reason--I pull out the camera and set it on the windowsill, and just see what I can get of motion and "ghosts" as people move through the frame and...yeah. It helps me channel my frustration into something non-harmful to others).

I hope the band, at least, shuts down early.

Hmm. I should have tried that! As it worked out, the band shut down by about 10:30. There were "revelers" around afterwards, but they were relatively quiet.
