At work tonight, a lady I'd seen making some kind of list by the coffee maker came up to me at my desk and asked if I had a paper clip.

I had a straight pin. I offered it to her: she took it, thanked me, flung it across the room, and dropped into a crouch behind my chair.

I do not know what that was about.

Ha! Wonders if this qualifies as a "sometimes it's better not to know" situation.

ETA: The hell, LJ. I just got forced to do the most glitchy, baffling, inscrutable quiz-as-captcha ever. Just to post a comment.

That was me BTW. LJ decided to log me out mid-comment. Which explains the bizarre captcha I guess.

Ha! I wondered if that was you!

I think you're right, and I'm better off not knowing what that was about. I haven't seen her since.

My friend M. in New Zealand, to whom I sent an email with substantially the same content, wrote back, "She's a Time Lord testing for local gravitational anomalies!"
