Changes in fic posting volumes

It's obvious that T&C isn't getting the volume of postings it used to. Anyone know if this is true of other Who fic sites?

I'm wondering if people are drifting away from the fandom or just changing subject matter within it. There's probably a seasonal aspect to it, too, as the Northern Hemisphere academic year is well underway.

I think there's often fannish doldrums between the season finale and the Christmas special, and more so now when there are so few threads to carry forward. After the S2 finale, of course, things were different. Ten II has some writers now, but I've found it hard going sometimes because the characterization of Ten II is so speculative and wildly varying. There are definitely ones I enjoy (and people I want to see write more!) but it's hard to know going in what you're going to get. Some longer-term writers seem discouraged that the show has Jossed their storylines. I don't doubt that some people are drifting away -- I don't think we're seeing many new writers in the current climate. I think fandom will go on, as it always does, but I wonder if places like T&C will ever be the same.

I think there is a great reshuffling of fandom post S4. JE has divided the loyalties of a number of shippers and new comms are springing up left and right.
