You should be dancing (Yeah!)

You probably have to have been 14 in a specific two or three year span to even remember Andy Gibb, but that was the chorus of one of his songs.  I wasn't even a fan, but my friend Sharon was.

I come, not to speak of Andy Gibb, but to report that a) I should be cleaning, and b) I need to brush Sheddy McSheddington tonight.  Too much fur in the air.

I really wanted to report that I have been singing "Everybody get brushed tonight!" to the tune of "Everybody get down tonight!"

I have tons of work that I'm not going to do tonight.  My project lead has decreed that we will all work in our special conference room "for the sake of communication & coordination".  I don't want to, precisely because of that communication:  the other two get into strange, pointless little bantering arguments that take up time and distract me.

I need silence when I work, or at least not have conversations going on around me.  Plus today I got what I think was a painless migraine.  Suddenly the noise was overwhelming and everything around me looked like things down the road do on a baking hot day.

I am tired, but I have to clean, and, as mentioned, everybody's getting brushed tonight.

ETA:

Get brushed tonight!
Get brushed tonight!
Brush a little fur,
Give a little purr,
Get brushed tonight!

Toeffe keeps developing mats, plus his fur got kind of grungy when he wasn't well (he's diabetic), so I've taken up brushing him. Good thing he enjoys it. I do it once or twice a week, as I think of it, and get an astonishing amount of fur off him. He feels so sleek afterward.

(But I am not that familiar with Andy Gibb, so I'm hearing "Everybody get brushed tonight" to the tune of "Everybody Wang Chung tonight.")

The other cats won't tolerate brushing; Penny stays silky and gorgeous on her own, but we do end up with tumbleweeds of black fur all over the house. I had to ambush Moly and work a tiny mat out of her fur yesterday, and she Did Not Approve but luckily she has a very short memory.

I have an undercoat brush for Jack (a "furminator") and it removes about an extra kitten's worth of fur. It's amazing.

What do you suppose Penny's secret is? Does she sneak out to a salon?

Andy was the one Gibb brother I had a crush on. It was probably the Leif Garrett hair that did it.

Also, I find it reassuring somehow that so many of us have silly cat songs.

I have a whole repertoire of silly cat songs!

It was sad, what happened to Andy Gibb. He was so young.

And of course, the entire Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is stuck in my head. Ta for that ;-)

Painless migraines can be a sign of sensory disorders. We can talk about that sometime if you like. It's a co-morbid with ADD thing.

Ha ha ha ha! Sorry about the soundtrack problem!

That's very interesting, about the painless migraines and the sensory disorders. My mother has painless migraines, but I didn't think I got them since I never had visual distortions. (She has them, big time.) But then someone suggested that a pulsing head and hypersensitivity to sound, which combination attacks me from time to time, could be a sign of a migraine.

I'd like to hear more about it.

Glad it's painless, that's all I can say.
