Lent, Day I'm-Not-Sure

I think this is the 17th day of Lent. In years past, following earlgreytea68's example, I've practiced gratitude by thinking of something I was happy about for every day of Lent.

So: today I am happy because: it's sunny, it's warm, I have a date tonight, and I have a nice home and nice friends, online and off. And because it's been a long time since I was 17 and I am no longer likely to fall in love with someone who has a number of uses but no true regard for me.

Growing up is incredibly painful - I wish someone had told me that I'd make the bulk of my life mistakes in my 20s, AND THAT THAT WAS NORMAL - but it's incredibly worth while.

Have a good day, all

I feel the same way about the 20s. I don't think society gets that point across enough!

No, I don't think so, either! If only someone had said, "Nobody expects you to know anything yet. And nobody expects you to do everything perfectly. And you can screw up lots and lots of times, life will still work out all right."
