Serendipity

Or, I went out to buy a second-hand bookcase, and three thrift stores later had two CDs and a Cuisinart dual-canister ice cream maker.

Aside from having dirty feet, the ice cream maker shows no signs of use at all, although it wasn't in a box.  The mechanism works (I plugged it in at the store to test.)  The canisters are in the freezer right now.

In a day or two I'll try it out.

The CDs, if you care, were Mary-Chapin Carpenter and Radiohead.

That same store also had a large, seemingly unused George Foreman Grill, the kind that can cook hamburgers for six. I was very tempted (it was $20, and I don't have a real grill) but my sister talked me out of it on the grounds that I already have a little GFG. Yeah, but if I want to cook even for as few as four people, it takes forever!

I wonder if someone was doing away with wedding gifts from a brief marriage, or something.
