The Rise and Fall of Charm in American Men
Aside from George Clooney, can you name a single genuinely charming contemporary American man?
A very thoughtful if somewhat old-fashioned essay. It certainly got me thinking.
Who among modern actors and public figures (not necessarily American) has genuine charm?

I think Zachary Levi (Chuck, Tangled) definitely has shown a lot of the traits highlighted in the article as required for a charming man--more in the James Garner mold than George Clooney, though. But it's still odd to think of any modern American man as charming, and I don't really know why!
I was particularly struck by the line that charm is a quality reserved for adults. It doesn't seem like we see a lot of adults on screen these days.
