Lent - Day Eighteen

I'm glad that I did work on my resume today.  It was a real struggle getting as far with it as I did, because I hate doing that kind of thing.

I also made dal makhani. The recipe called for 100g of butter for six people. That's a whole stick of butter.  I think a quarter of that would have been plenty.  But it's pretty good.

I went to the supermarket and was what is for me in these latter days very self-indulgent:  I bought four Annie Chun noodle bowls (on sale!), fresh bagels (two bags!) and a loaf of ready-to-bake garlic bread in a foil bag.  So very indulgent.  And some diet ginger ale.

I love dal makhani! I always end up eating the instant from-a-box kind, though.

Even instant dal makhani is pretty good. Mine evaporated more than I would have liked -- I think the pot I used doesn't seal tightly enough -- but it tastes pretty good. I used fenugreek for the first time (it's hard to find around here) and I think it made a big difference.

(Heh - Chrome thinks "fenugreek" should be spelled "refereeing"!)
