Namely, this one.

Good-looking, isn't it? I would put it in the laundry room, where I need to reclaim some surface area, so it doesn't need to look like an heirloom.

My dad (who Knows All, at least when it comes to wood) says that I'd have to waterproof the entire lower half of the box in order to keep it from "swelling and smelling", particleboard having a tendency to act like a sponge. I have an email off to him asking whether that would be relatively straightforward to do.

It's very cute, but I would tend to agree on the water proofing. Particle board and water is a bad combo.

We were thinking of lining the entire inside with adhesive plastic (clear Contact paper), with an extra strip over each of the seams. Dad thought that it might need patching from time to time but would hold.

It would probably be a very heavy item of furniture, though, being particleboard.
