Going home this morning after a LOVELY weekend.  Did I mention I got to see REAL WATER?  That I couldn't see the other side of?  (I believe it's called "Lake Ontario".  Maybe you've heard of it.)

One nice thing about this is that I'm sure I didn't see Toronto at its most charming, since when it wasn't raining it was threatening to.  Yet I enjoyed what I saw:  Asian food of kinds we just don't have in my home city, proper fish and chips (although the potatoes taste funny), and a delightful farmers' market.  I wish I'd had my camera with me for the farmers' market:  if I were designing one for a story, this is what it would look and sound like.  (There was even a small quintet playing Dixieland jazz, marching up and down the aisles.)

I am going home determined to make fruit tarts in the near future (we saw -- and ate -- some beautiful ones).

Very very happy I came.

it wasn't ALWAYS raining or threatening to rain. Sometimes there was snow.

It could have been worse. March was worse. But come back anyway.

Thank you! I will!

Next time I will GET SOME CASH. I was taken by surprise by how much yours is a cash economy. At least in my little corner of America, that just isn't so. I know people in Cincinnati who don't even have wallets, just little leather sleeves for their credit cards.

(Obviously those are people who never have need of a vending machine. But I digress.)
