Thinking about Twitter

I am finding that telling the world about something on Twitter (like having to see an eye doctor this morning to have a torn contact lens fragment removed from my eye) more or less relieves my need to talk about it. So I don't bother reporting it on LJ. Which explains why a lot of poeple seem to have left LJ for Twittering.

Their tweets are charming. And I'm glad I'm receiving them. But I miss their essays. I miss their natural voices without the keep-to-the-point terseness of Twitter.

Yeah, I stopped using Twitter after I realised that I was just sort of using it as a chat room. I saw that you asked to follow me over there but honestly, I don't use it any more. I would delete the account but I use it to play Echo Bazaar!

What *is* Echo Bazaar? I've heard people mention it.

I'm thinking of using Twitter as a place to just post non-sequiturs.

Echo Bazaar is an online text-based RPG with a very minor (and purely optional) social component. However, the developers chose to use Twitter and Facebook APIs as the only way to log in to the game.

It's way addictive and pretty brilliant. I am actually looking forward to their release of a tabletop RPG version of the game.

Sounds like pure crack. I'd better stay away. :)
