Five Questions meme

From jlrpuck

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

1. What do you absolutely have to have at hand to write?

A bit of quiet and some privacy. Good light, a comfortable chair, and something caffeinated to drink are all pluses.

2. If you had fifteen seconds of DT’s uninterrupted attention, what would you say?

After considering and discarding several options, I think I'd go with "How can you tell the dancer from the dance?"

3. What one website—besides LJ ;)—could you not live without?

Does Google count? Maybe Salon, or the Guardian, or MSDN.

4. What one city would you most like to visit?

That's a tough one. There are a lot of places I'd like to go, if I could just get enough time to explore them. Maybe Auckland, New Zealand, to see an old friend, meet his family, and experience some of the things he raves about.

5. What is your dream job?

Jazz singer

If anyone wants to be asked five questions, post a comment as per the meme, and I'll give you five questions.

"How can you tell the dancer from the dance?"

I always wonder that, whenever I notice my heart throbbing for a heartthrob. Is it the dancer or the dance that truly attracts us? And those times when we think we're seeing the dancer as he is, no longer dancing -- is it just a different, subtler dance?

(The nice thing about fandom is that both answers have their communities, and you can follow both the_rspcpc and tennant_love.)

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was way too violent. And I wanted to sock Kate Capshaw's character squarely in the jaw for the majority of the movie. [/end random comment]

Jazz singer? Oh, do you sing? I always wished I could, but my singing frightens small children. Literally. I've been asked by more than one three-year-old to please stop.

Yes, I sing, mostly jazz standards and some arias. I'm not bad. I'd do better if I worked harder at it, but isn't that true of everything?

Five questions. Here we go:

1. What talent that you lack (other than singing) would you most like to have, and why?
2. Who is your favorite non-fictional non-human?
3. We've been told that you've honed your critical and editorial skills on earlgreytea68's fiction, and that you're quite good at it. If you could give Russell T. Davies constructive criticism, what would you tell him?
4. Do you feel your college education prepared you for what you do for a living today? If not, do you wish you'd studied something else?
5. What can you not start the day without?

This was fun! Thanks for picking me!

So, so jealous of your singing! Seriously, that's very cool.

My answers are now posted. God bless this long weekend!
