The Pandorica Opens

The terrible destructive being held within the Pandorica being the Doctor? I totally called that (as did, I think, every sentient being on this planet.) That the point was to put him IN the Pandorica rather than let some other version of him out? Didn't see that coming.

Yup. I think we pretty much all agreed some version of Himself was in the box, not going to be chucked into the box. Nice that they were able to come up with a smart twist to what was otherwise so predictable.

Every time the Doctor asked, "What can you possibly be?" I wanted to shout, "You mean you can't guess??"

I'm actually a little torn over whether that was a twist to subvert everyone's very obvious expectations, or that they just didn't realise that pretty much everyone with a central nervous system had already figured out that the terrible creature that the Pandorica is meant to contain is the Doctor about 6 episodes ago.

Like you, I was totally expecting him to be in there. Though actually, I was a bit disappointed when he wasn't.

I'm hoping it was a twist. Otherwise, I'd want to ask Moffat whether he thought none of us had ever seen the show before.
