Trying to remember

S. and I were talking about American remakes of British television, and I said I thought I remembered that a British film was actually being remade right now by an American studio with Americans. S. said that didn't ever happen: television shows, yes, but not an actual film being remade. I was pretty sure I'd recently read of it happening.

Can anyone think of a British film that's currently being remade as an American film?

Can anyone think of a past instance of this being done?

Many thanks,
NP.

ETA: I did think of one past example: the Coen brothers remade "The Ladykillers" some years ago. But can anyone think of a *recent* film being remade?

Ladykillers would have been the one I brought up, too. I can't think of any others off of the top of my head, although I know it's been done, and I even seem to remember someone talking about it recently.

Yeah, me too. I was thinking maybe it was St. Trinian's, little sense though that would make as an American film, but I couldn't find any mention on IMDB of a remake.

Death at a Funeral. The commercials have been inescapable during 30 Rock, as Tracy Morgan's in the remake.
