Jack, who has two carefully selected pet beds he never uses, has decided his bed will be a basket I bought to eventually hold mail, that is currently holding a number of Target plastic bags.

I moved a similar basket over by it, lined with cloth, which I thought would be more comfortable. No dice. He wants the one with the now-flattened plastic bags.

Who am I to argue?

You know, I was going to say something silly, but then I remembered that one of my favorite things to play with when I was tiny was a giant cardboard box that our dishwasher came in. Note: I had a treehouse.

The Children's Museum in Madison did some renovating last year, and ended up with a bunch of big boxes. They decided to stick them all in a room and let kids play with them. Turned out to be one of their most popular exhibits.

I can definitely see the appeal of a cardboard box. They have kind of a nice smell, assuming they haven't been transporting anything too pungent. I fondly remember a refrigerator box from when I was little.
