One thing I love about YouTube and the Internet in general is that if you remember anything about a song you heard once, (like the lyric "We're on holiday/We're from America"), you can look up the lyrics, find the song name, and very likely find it on YouTube.

I'm also listening to Beatle solo songs. Some are better than others, as is well-known. I'm going to listen to the songs Paul McCartney did with Elvis Costello next, I think: I've never heard those.

I love that too. I now also have an app for my Android phone called Shazam that can "listen" to a playing song and tell you what it is. I'm sure this isn't new to the general world but good grief, how cool is that???

That is so cool!

So you can be, like, in a store, and ask it what the background music is, and it can tell you?

How sensitive is it? Can it tell the difference between, say, He's So Fine and My Sweet Lord? Can it distinguish between Weird Al Yankovic and the songs he parodies?

I haven't tested it a lot, but it's been spot on for everything I've thrown at it so far. I may have to test with Weird Al, actually.

Hee. Youtube is awesome for finding moldy old songs and clips from shows I haven't thought of in years.
